CONSTANT FAZILLEAU (FR): Ceramics

  • Hektor 65 Calle San Isidro Labrador Teguise, CN, 35539 Spain (map)

Working in Paris, France, Constant Fazilleau is an artist working primarily with ceramics, photography, video and writing. His ongoing project, Domestic Theatre, explores the poetic, symbolic and political dimensions of everyday objects and domestic rituals.

Through handcrafted ceramic forms inspired by vernacular vessels and daily use, he investigates how ordinary objects can become tools for storytelling, contemplation and social reflection. His practice combines making, documentation and essayistic research, often bringing together objects, landscapes, texts and moving images into interconnected bodies of work.

Recent projects have explored themes of fragility, resource scarcity and the relationship between domestic culture and place, notably through research developed on the island of Lanzarote.

During the residency, I will continue developing Domestic Theatre, an ongoing artistic research project exploring the relationship between everyday objects, domestic rituals and place.

Returning to Lanzarote, I will use ceramics, photography, video and writing to investigate the island’s landscape, vernacular forms and local ways of inhabiting a territory shaped by limited natural resources.

The residency will be approached as a new chapter within a long-term body of work, combining the creation of ceramic pieces with a visual and written essay documenting observations, gestures of making and encounters with the island.
