There’s no black sheep in this family

Our loved ones invite you to their home

It’s been over two years since rescue animals started settling in here. Time has come to officially call it their home, or Auchón.
It started with two donkeys and two sheep and has grown into a more diverse group including pigs, a duck, chickens, cats and peacocks.
We’re proud and happy to be the caretakers of such a funny, (emotionally) intelligent and sociable gang.
All set for them, and you, and officially inaugurated: Auchón.

The Gang Leader

Undoubtedly the leader of the pack, our small majorero donkey named Silvestre shows the way every single time.

This little fellow spent his formative years enclosed within a modest 20m2 stable during the first five years of his life, and after a much needed stop at LanzAnimal, he now joyfully roams (freely) with us.

Over time, he has become quite cheeky, highly curious, and has developed his own unique way of doing things (such as secretly escaping while you are in the midst of feeding him). Always eager and ready for a cuddle, Silvestre brings a special charm to our lives.

A flock of wool

Our tree sheep all have unique stories. Stella - the Pelibuey breed - was rescued from unfortunate conditions at a farm. Loki and Malala - both of whom belong to the Canarian breed - were each found on different occasions, running free in areas they should not have been.

You will never see one of them without the other two by their side, and approaching this trio can often lead to one of Stella’s famously chaotic "run for your life" moments.

However, be aware that despite their antics, they always come running when they hear the sound of the packages of galletas!

It is well known among our artists and guests that Felipe takes a refreshing break every morning and afternoon without fail. Perhaps it’s due to his daily adventures in the neighborhood (where every morning he takes flight to explore the area), or perhaps it’s a much-deserved respite after his afternoon of leisurely sunbathing, but it’s truly a delightful little show you want to stick around for.

Additionally, he has quite the unique conviction that he can outsmart Silvestre at any given moment. The cutest quack around, no doubt.

Fly baby, fly

How to recognise Carmen? It's quite easy, really. She’s got two distinctly different paws that make her stand out in any crowd. Additionally, she can often be found lingering around the pines and enjoying the food she makes sure is readily available.

This stray beauty choose Hektor as her home several years ago, and now she happily enjoys a relaxing and carefree lifetime holiday at the farm.

Paw paw

The guard

He’s not always around, but when he is, he makes sure to thoroughly enjoy his company to the fullest. Because unless a walk, run, or hike is on the agenda, Frits’ primary life goal is to receive and give as many cuddles as possible.

Frits was given up years ago due to being labeled as a difficult dog, and although he certainly has quite the character, he is also the absolute sweetest and most devoted guard of the farm you could ever imagine.

Meet the rescues

The Perfect Alternative

Saved from slaughter, pigs, Tempeh & Tofu, bring a sense of joy to each and every day.

Highly intelligent, as all pigs tend to be, they exhibit a deep curiosity and enthusiasm for everything around them, but what they love most of all are belly rubs and big, warm hugs from their human companions.

If you’ve never had the pleasure of meeting a pig before, Tofu & Tempeh are here to guide you through every step of this tasty encounter.

You’d better be prepared to receive an abundance of love and affection, as they are ready to share their heart with you.

Birds of a feather

Our three sisters, Pamela, Penny & Paloma joined recently. They come from a rescue centre but grew up with us. Paloma is an absolute cuddle chick - and Pamela secretly believes we’re the mother hen. Penny on the other hand is independent, fearless and a true explorer.

The newcomers are Isa, Houdina and Isidro, our tree peacocks. They grew up at a private rescue home on the island and are currently getting to know our lands. We can’t wait for them to be able to show off their enormous beauty.

In loving memory

Of our two beloved old ladies. Because giving them a happy ever after also means lovingly taking care of them until their very last day.

Silvana and Dolly both stayed at the farm for a much too short period of time, but oh my, did they truly enjoy all the cuddles that Silvana adored, and the food that Dolly always looked forward to. Their unique personalities and joyful spirits have left a forever sweet spot in our hearts.
